Renewable Energy Maryland

While Maryland currently generates over 8% of their electricity through renewable energy sources, the state is quickly moving toward their stated goal of 20% by 2022. Of that goal, 2% is expected to be from solar energy. Nuclear power accounts for about 35% percent of the net electricity production in Maryland. Governor Martin O’Malley continues to accelerate four main energy objectives: use of renewable energy, green jobs, climate action and overall energy reduction.
